Assaf Blecher was appointed as SVP Development and Content at Keshet Broadcasting’s Tel Aviv HQ in February 2016. Reporting to Keshet Media Group CEO, Avi Nir, Assaf is charged with the development of non-scripted content such as game, entertainment and reality shows for the country’s leading commercial channel, as well as developing and packaging content for clients of Keshet’s global distribution and production arm, Keshet International. Prior to his current position Assaf was based in LA and London for more than 15 years and held roles as Vice President, Development and Programming for TV and Digital for dick clark productions (dcp_ and Managing Director of Keshet International’s joint venture with dcp. For two years with the joint venture, Assaf managed programming and development. Keshet DCP programming includes the explosive game show BOOM!, which aired on FOX (2015) and the interactive talent show RISING STAR which aired on ABC (2014). Assaf joined dick clark productions in 2005 as Development Manager and held several roles within the company over a 10 year period. He produced the flagship dcp live red carpet pre-shows for the Golden Globes, Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards and AMCAs, as well as creating, packaging and executive producing several formerly non-televised shows to air including the Streamys (VH1), the International Fashion Film Awards (Cenemoi Channel/Worldwide), The Golden Gods (Viacom) Star Spangled Spectacular (PBS) and the American Giving Awards (NBC). In his role as Vice President of Development TV and Digital Programming he also developed and executive produced original non scripted properties such as World’s Funniest (FOX), Big Crazy Family Adventure (Travel Channel) and Deadly Sins (Discovery). Other titles in Keshet Broadcasting’s library Assaf worked with include: Masters of Dance, Who can Beat Israel, Lovers or Liars and more Assaf was born and raised in Israel. He received his Master’s degree in Media Production from Kent & Canterbury University in the UK. Assaf has been nominated twice for an Emmy Award and is a 5-time Telly Award and 4- time Webby Award winner.
